I often get to hear some pretty funny things from my 1st graders. Here's a sample one of the writings today...
"Mmm there was fresh fish sticks in the oven. I love when my mom makes fresh fish sticks and creamed corn."
We've been working on adjectives and details, I like the use of the word "fresh", but it usually doesn't apply to my fish sticks:-)

Unhappy Easter:-(
So the diagnosis for Aaron is bronchiolitis. His is a textbook case...started as a cold, mucus, coughing, mild fever, and then over a few days the coughing and breathing gets worse.
Luckily the time spent in the emergency area of the hospital wasn't too long. We finally had to go in today because his wheezing got worse overnight. Hopefully a little steroids will help the breathing. We're thankful all is going to be okay!

Am I boring?
So I have an issue with the toys I have looked at to purchase for the little man. Why is it that everything made these days makes noise and lights up? As a teacher, I feel this is a large problem with this generation of kids! My students come into class and expect to be entertained. They aren't used to using their imaginations and have a hard time doing so when asked. I guess my goal with Aaron is to help nourish his imagination. I want him to be able to look at a large box (like I did as a child) and imagine the possiblities... a castle, fortress, cave etc. Am I alone in this?
